KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: Kuwaiti athlete Ibrahim Al-Dhafiri clinched the gold medal in the 800-meter race during the ongoing Asian Indoor Athletics Championships held in Tehran, Iran. Al-Dhafiri secured the top spot by completing the distance in one minute, 52 seconds, and 11 hundredths of a second. Following closely behind, Iranian runner Sobhan Ahmadi claimed the second position, while a competitor from Qatar secured the bronze medal. The championships, hosting participants from 26 Asian countries, commenced on February 17 and will continue until February 19.
