Kuwait martial arts winners displaying their medals at the recently conducted World Martial Arts Championship
Kuwait’s martial arts team won a total of 50 medals in the 2017 World Martial Arts Championship which concluded Monday, April 10 in Portugal. The four-day event, which was held in the Portuguese city of Caldas Da Rainha, witnessed the participation of about 6,000 young martial artists representing 20 countries worldwide.In a press statement issued through telephone, Head of the Kuwaiti delegation to the championship Abdullah Taqi expressed his joy over Kuwait team’s achievement, which he described it as unprecedented in the history of Kuwait’s participation in world athletics. He explained that the youth and amateur teams participating in the championship, which was organized by the World All-styles Championship Association (WAC), managed to raise the flag of Kuwait high during the championship. They bagged 19 gold, 20 silver and 11 bronze medals. Taqi dedicated the achievement to the political leadership and the people of Kuwait.
