Kuwait’s Ministry of Defense Mourns Two Soldiers Killed in Training Exercise

KUWAIT CITY, Feb 19: The Minister of Defense, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali, along with all military and civilian members of the Ministry of Defense, mourned the tragic loss of two soldiers, First Sergeant Ahmed Farhan Harat and Sergeant Assistant Dhahi Saleh, who passed away on Wednesday evening while carrying out a night shooting exercise with live ammunition. Both soldiers were members of the Land Forces.

In an official statement, the Ministry of Defense conveyed its deepest condolences, with Minister Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali praying for the mercy of the deceased and asking for their place in God's eternal paradise. He also offered his prayers for patience and strength to their grieving families.

In addition to the two deceased, the General Staff announced that Corporal Anwar Khalaf Radwan and Corporal Mutlaq Muhammad Mubarak were injured during the final exercise of the "Desert Observer 4". They were immediately taken to Al-Jahra Hospital for treatment. The competent authorities have initiated an investigation into the circumstances of the incident and are working to determine all its details. The Ministry of Defense has expressed its wishes for the speedy recovery of the injured soldiers.

As the investigation continues, the Ministry of Defense and the General Staff of the Army reaffirm their commitment to upholding the highest safety standards in training exercises while honoring the brave sacrifices of their soldiers.
