Kuwait's naval units remove undersea obstacle near Qaruh Island
Kuwaiti Army Special Naval Units are conducting an operation to recover an undersea obstacle near Qaruh Island and remove abandoned fishing nets.

KUWAIT CITY, April 20: On Sunday, special naval units of the Kuwaiti Army conducted an operation to remove a submerged sea obstacle near Qaruh Island. The operation aimed to remove abandoned fishing nets and rescue the marine life trapped within them, while also ensuring the safety of shipping lanes and preventing potential accidents involving boats and ships.

The General Staff of the Army issued a statement, highlighting that this operation is part of the naval force's ongoing efforts to protect the marine environment. The abandoned fishing net, which stretched approximately 500 meters, had become entangled with the seabed, posing a significant threat to coral reefs and marine creatures.

The operation is part of Kuwait's broader commitment to safeguarding its marine life and ensuring the safety of its maritime activities
