Kuwait export certificates decline: GCC exports down, Arab and Islamic markets show growth.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has reported a decrease in local exports (of Kuwaiti origin) excluding oil for June, totaling 21.7 million dinars, down from approximately 23.8 million dinars in May.

Saleh Al-Azmi, Undersecretary of the International Organizations Affairs and Foreign Trade Sector, provided a detailed breakdown of the export certificates issued during June. He noted a decline in certificates issued to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, with 1,495 certificates valued at 11.68 million dinars, compared to 1,502 certificates amounting to 14.7 million dinars in May.

Certificates issued to Arab and Islamic countries saw an increase, with 403 certificates exported to eight countries, valued at 9.3 million dinars. This is an improvement from 308 certificates for 12 countries worth 7.5 million dinars in the previous month.

In contrast, the number of certificates issued to European countries decreased. June saw 11 certificates issued for four countries, totaling 515,000 dinars, down from 13 certificates for eight countries valued at 1.1 million dinars. Similarly, the number of certificates issued to African countries dropped to four certificates for three countries worth 115,000 dinars, compared to seven certificates for four countries totaling 240,000 dinars.

For the American continents, June recorded five certificates for two countries with a value of 77,000 dinars, a decrease from six certificates for two countries worth 141,000 dinars in May. Asian countries received only two certificates in June, valued at 1,345 dinars, down from three certificates for two countries valued at 11,647 dinars.

These statistics reflect shifting patterns in Kuwait’s export activities and underscore the need for continued monitoring and adaptation to international trade dynamics
