KUWAIT CITY, Nov 17: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry has reported a decline in Kuwait’s total local exports (excluding oil) in October, amounting to 21.1 million dinars, down from 24.4 million dinars in September, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Saleh Al-Azmi, Undersecretary of the International Organizations Affairs and Foreign Trade Sector provided details to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), highlighting the total certificates of origin issued for Kuwaiti exports. For the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, 1,823 certificates were issued last October, valued at KD 11.9 million, compared to 1,781 certificates worth KD 14.6 million in September. Exports to Arab countries saw a decrease in both the number of certificates and value, with 322 certificates worth KD 8.3 million issued in October, compared to 370 certificates valued at KD 8.06 million in September.
In Europe, 7 certificates were issued to five countries, down from 9 certificates for six countries the previous month. The African exports showed a significant drop, with only two certificates worth KD 29,737 issued, compared to four certificates worth KD 54,299 in September. Exports to the Americas also saw a decline, with 11 certificates issued in October valued at KD 116,363, compared to 6 certificates worth KD 163,862 the month before. Exports to Asian countries and Australia increased slightly, with 5 certificates issued to three countries worth KD 88,404, compared to three certificates for three countries valued at KD 48,366 in September
