KUWAIT CITY, Aug 5: Kuwait's national U-23 Olympic team is set to clash with the Bahrain national team in a friendly match, marking an exciting moment within the Blue and Red camp held in Thailand. This event serves as a precursor to our team's participation in the upcoming Asian Games, set to take place in China from September 19 to October 8. The Asian Games will see our team, competing as part of Group E, engage with formidable opponents such as South Korea, Bahrain, and Thailand.
The present match holds special significance, being the inaugural game for our Olympic team since their arrival in Thailand a decade ago. Over this ten-day period, the technical staff, under the guidance of Portuguese coach Emilio Peixe, dedicated their efforts to enhancing the players' physical condition and honing their skills in preparation for the forthcoming phase.
Furthermore, a pivotal decision has been made by the Football Association's Board of Directors. Abdulaziz Al-Samhan, a prominent member of the board, has been appointed as the director for the Arabian Gulf Football Championship, fondly known as "Gulf 26". Anticipation mounts as this prestigious championship is scheduled to unfold in Kuwait during December 2024.
