KUWAIT CITY, Aug 6: In the inspection campaigns carried out by the General Administration of Correctional Institutions, a coordinated effort was undertaken to control prohibited items and address negative behaviors in prisons.

At dawn yesterday, prison guards from the General Administration of Correctional Institutions, in cooperation with the General Administration of Special Forces, raided prison wards 5 - 6. They discovered mobile phones, headphones, charging wires, various narcotic substances hidden in secret ways, and sharp tools such as knives, machetes, daggers, and sticks in the prisoners' luggage.

A security source confirmed to Al-Anba that close monitoring of the prisoners’ wards had revealed that wards 5 and 6 were involved in illegal activities by some prisoners. As a result, a force of prison security personnel was assembled in cooperation with the General Administration of Special Forces to conduct the raid.

The prisoners were evacuated, and a thorough search ensued, uncovering a quantity of narcotic substances and pills hidden in tissue boxes and mattresses. Additionally, several mobile phones, headphones, and phone charging cables were found, along with edged weapons like knives, machetes, daggers, and sticks.

The contraband was seized, and an investigation has been launched to determine how these items entered the prison and to review surveillance footage.
