KUWAIT CITY, Jan 25: In confirmation of what was published by the Al- Seyassah daily on Jan 13, 2025, the Central Tenders Committee announced the awarding of the contract for the study, detailed design and preparation of tender documents for the first phase of the railway project to the Turkish global company PROYAPI. In a statement to KUNA recently, the committee clarified that the first phase of the project involves providing detailed design services and preparing the tender documents for the railway. The duration for the completion of this initial phase is set at 12 months, after which the execution tender will be issued. The statement also noted that the planned timeline for the completion of the railway construction is set for 2030. It added that the length of the railway route connecting Kuwait and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia spans 111 kilometers, with Kuwait serving as the northern station for the project.
