Kuwait's shooting team wins three gold medals at Asian Championship

ASTANA, Sept 23, (KUNA): Kuwait’s shooting team claimed three gold medals in the ongoing Asian Shooting Championship in Kazakhstan, excelling in the trap shooting events. Nasser Al-Muqallad secured the gold medal in the men’s category, while Kuwait's male and female teams also captured gold in their respective team competitions, marking a significant achievement for Kuwaiti shooting on the continental stage.

President of the Kuwait Shooting Federation and Secretary-General of the Asian Shooting Federation, Duaij Al-Otaibi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday that the team’s success in the competitions was led by shooters Nasser Al-Muqallad, Talal Al-Rashidi, and Abdulrahman Al-Faihan, who dominated the men’s team category. In the women’s team competition, Shahad Al-Hawal, Sarah Al-Hawal, and Reem Al-Zamanan took first place.

Al-Otaibi dedicated this remarkable achievement to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, His Highness Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister, the Kuwaiti people, and the Kuwait shooting family. He emphasized the team's determination to continue enhancing Kuwait’s success in shooting sports.

He highlighted the distinguished performance of Kuwait’s shooters throughout the championship, which began a few days ago under the supervision of the Asian Shooting Federation. Al-Otaibi praised the impressive achievements of the Kuwaiti athletes, noting the strong competition from countries such as China, Japan, Kazakhstan, Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, and many others from across Asia. Al-Otaibi concluded by stating that these accomplishments reflect the political leadership’s unwavering support for Kuwaiti sports.
