Kuwait's strategic partnership with Microsoft to empower the workforce
The Council of Ministers during its weekly meeting at Bayan Palace, chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah.

KUWAIT CITY, March 5:  The Cabinet held its weekly meeting on Tuesday morning, March 4, 2025, at Bayan Palace, chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yousef Saud Al-Sabah. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sherida Abdullah Al-Muasherji, briefed the media following the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet extended its warmest congratulations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and to the people and residents of Kuwait on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. The Cabinet prayed to Allah Almighty to accept their good deeds and bring blessings, goodness, and prosperity to the Islamic and Arab nations. It also prayed for continued security, safety, and prosperity for Kuwait.

The Cabinet was briefed on the visit of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's representative, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and the official delegation accompanying him to the Arab Republic of Egypt. His Highness the Crown Prince is heading Kuwait’s delegation at the extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo, where discussions are focused on the Palestinian issue. The summit aims to adopt a unified Arab position to support the rights of the Palestinian people and their steadfastness on their land.

The Cabinet reviewed messages sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah by the leaders of several sisterly and friendly countries. These messages focused on strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing joint cooperation between Kuwait and those countries in various fields.

The Cabinet examined a presentation by His Excellency the Minister of State for Communications Affairs, Omar Saud Al-Omar, regarding the strategic partnership agreement between the Government of Kuwait and Microsoft. This agreement will lead to the establishment of several centers, including a modern artificial intelligence data center and a Center of Excellence for Cloud Computing. Additionally, a comprehensive rehabilitation initiative will be launched to equip national cadres with the necessary skills in artificial intelligence to prepare them for future labor market demands. The Cabinet praised the efforts of Minister Al-Omar and the committee overseeing the strategic partnership.

The Cabinet also reviewed the recommendation from the Ministerial Committee for Economic Affairs regarding the approval of the annual development plan for 2025-2026, submitted by the General Secretariat of the Supreme Council for Planning and Development. The Cabinet decided to assign the General Secretariat to coordinate with relevant parties to address any obstacles hindering the plan's progress.

Review of Agenda TopicsThe Council of Ministers reviewed several topics listed on the agenda, approved a number of them, and referred others to the appropriate ministerial committees for further study and report preparation to ensure the completion of necessary procedures.
