CAIRO, Feb 6: The Egyptian Ministry of Culture announced on Wednesday that Kuwait's Takween Publishing House and Namaa Research and Studies House have been awarded the Best Arab Publisher Award. This recognition came at the conclusion of the 56th Cairo International Book Fair, which was organized by the Egyptian General Book Organization under the patronage of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Egyptian Minister of Culture Ahmed Hano congratulated the winners of the fair’s competitions, encouraging them to continue their creative efforts.
For his part, Dr. Ahmed Bahi El-Din, Chairman of the Egyptian General Book Organization, noted that this year’s fair witnessed an unprecedented turnout, surpassing attendance numbers from previous editions. He emphasized that this session had the highest audience in the history of the fair and was distinguished by the variety of activities it offered.
The Higher Committee of the Cairo International Book Fair also announced the winners of the fair’s 2025 awards across 16 categories covering all fields of knowledge.
The exhibition, which opened on January 23, saw participation from 1,345 publishing houses from 80 countries, including Kuwait. The fair featured 6,150 exhibitors showcasing literary and intellectual publications. This year also marked the participation of more than 10 countries for the first time.
