KUWAIT CITY, Jan 6: Kuwait’s Standing Committee for National Holidays and Occasions announced the launch of the “Ya Hala” shopping festival, set to run from January 21 to March 31. The festival was introduced at a ceremony at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Center, attended by key officials, including Minister of Information and Culture Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi, and Undersecretaries from the Ministries of Information and Commerce. The event, part of Kuwait’s national celebrations, aims to promote domestic tourism, support small businesses, and stimulate the local economy. Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information, emphasized the committee’s focus on collaboration between the public and private sectors, as well as civil society. Festival CEO Fadel Al-Dosari highlighted the initiative’s role in continuing the festive spirit from recent events like the Gulf Cup, positioning Kuwait as a commercial, cultural, and tourism hub. The festival offers discounts, promotions, and weekly draws with prizes exceeding $8 million, including luxury cars and cash rewards. The festival’s diverse activities, including drone shows and fireworks, will showcase Kuwait’s landmarks and provide a lively shopping experience for locals and tourists alike. (KUNA)
