Last-gasp Burgan tops Kazma

KUWAIT CITY, April 12: Burgan Club's handball star, Hamoud Al-Adwani, scored a last-second goal in his team’s thrilling 33-32 victory over Kazma in the top match of the third round of the Premier Handball League's first division. Al-Adwani's decisive goal not only secured Burgan’s second victory over Kazma, after their earlier win in the preliminary round, but also lifted Burgan to 27 points, breaking its tie with Kazma, which now stands at 25 points and drops to third place.

The match, held at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex, also saw Kuwait Club dominate Al-Arabi 37-29 to maintain the top spot with 32 points. Al-Arabi remains in fourth place with 18 points. In another close encounter, Al-Salmiya edged out Al-Sulaibikhat 36-35, raising its points tally to 18 and securing fifth place. Al-Sulaibikhat remains in sixth place with 16 points.

The upcoming fourth round of the Premier Handball League will take place tomorrow at the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex in Sabah Al-Salem, with Kuwait Club facing Kazma, Burgan playing Al-Sulaibikhat, and Al-Salmiya taking on Al-Arabi.

In the first division handball league, Al-Fahaheel triumphed over Al-Sahel 29-26, while Al-Qurain defeated Khaitan 30-27 in the fourth round. The standings in the first division are as follows: Al-Nasr (18 points), Al-Qadisiyah (18 points), Al-Qurain (16 points), Al-Fahaheel (12 points), Khaitan (8 points), Al-Tadamon (3 points), Al-Yarmouk (2 points), and Al-Sahel (0 points).
