KUWAIT CITY, Sept 2: Deputy Foreign Minister for Europe, Ambassador Walid Al-Khubeizi, said that the Kuwaiti Embassy in Cyprus has appointed a lawyer to follow up the case of 10 Kuwaitis who were arrested by the Cyprus police after they were involved in a brawl in Ayia Napa on Thursday (Aug 29) evening with British tourists during which two Britons were injured, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Khubeizi told the daily, investigations are continuing by the Cypriot authorities and the Kuwaitis will continue to be in detention for a maximum of seven days before the charges are brought against them. Meanwhile, the condition of the two Britons who are in the intensive care unit of the Famagusta hospital is believed to be critical.
