KUWAIT CITY, Aug 15: The Criminal Court scheduled a session for Aug 28 to deliberate on the ‘liquor yacht’ case involving the friend of a social media influencer who owns the yacht (a citizen) and the Filipino captain who have been accused of smuggling about 700 bottles of liquor through the seaport, reports Al-Seyassah daily.

The Public Prosecution exonerated the social media influencer days after interrogating him about the alcoholic drinks found in his yacht, while his friend and the captain were referred to the Central Prison. The prosecution made the decision based on the testimony of the captain that the social media influencer had nothing to do with the alcohol smuggling and he did not know anything about it. Case files indicate that security authorities confiscated a large quantity of liquor at Umm Al-Maradim Customs Center. The authorities found the liquor bottles when they inspected the yacht, which came from another Gulf country.
