KUWAIT CITY, Jan 4: On Saturday, Minister of Public Works Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan announced the commencement of extensive road maintenance in the Bayan area. Teams have already conducted inspections in preparation for the necessary repairs and maintenance work.
In a press statement, Minister Al-Mashaan emphasized that road maintenance and repair are key priorities for Kuwait’s political leadership. The government’s commitment to improving the country’s infrastructure aligns with the goals of the New Kuwait 2035 plan, which aims to develop an advanced infrastructure.
She highlighted the importance of completing the maintenance work swiftly, based on recommendations from His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah. The initiative reflects the government’s dedication to maintaining and improving the country’s infrastructure.
Minister Al-Mashaan further explained that the maintenance efforts will begin with the most severely affected roads, followed by those in less critical condition. She assured that the Ministry of Public Works’ teams would closely oversee and monitor the implementation of the maintenance projects.
She stressed the importance of coordination to resolve any outstanding issues related to the roadwork and urged the contracting companies to expedite the work, ensuring it meets the required standards and quality, in line with the approved technical specifications and schedule.
Eng. Nasser Al-Zaabi, the supervisor for the first zone contract in Hawalli Governorate, provided additional details, noting that the maintenance work would begin with cleaning the sewage network, followed by surveying and asphalting the roads. He also requested cooperation from residents, especially as certain roads may be closed temporarily during the maintenance process.
