KUWAIT CITY, Dec 23: An expatriate, who works as a correspondent (mandoob) in a government agency, has been referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of requesting a bribe in exchange for expediting end-of-service payment procedures for retirees and those whose services have ended. According to security sources, the Capital Investigations Department received information about the expatriate requesting bribes from retirees to complete the payment of their financial dues within three weeks instead of the usual three months.
Immediately, the department launched investigations, which revealed that the suspect had a history of such illegal behavior. An undercover agent was sent to the suspect and he requested the expatriate’s help in expediting the end-of-service payment. Upon receiving the bribe, the expatriate was caught red-handed, and he admitted to his actions, claiming he considered the bribe merely as a “tip” for speeding up the process.
