LOS ANGELES, Nov 4, (Agencies): Mark Zuckerberg is on the road to recovery following a significant leg injury. The 39-year-old Facebook co-founder shared the news of his torn ACL and subsequent surgery on Instagram.

In his Instagram post, Zuckerberg featured a series of images of himself in a hospital bed, looking well after the surgical procedure. He expressed his gratitude to the medical team taking care of him and explained that the injury had forced him to delay his preparations for a competitive MMA fight scheduled for early next year. Despite the setback, he displayed determination and resilience in the photos, with his left leg bandaged and in a cast, proudly raising his left fist to show that the torn ACL wouldn't deter him. His wife, Priscilla Chan, made an appearance in one of the photos, tenderly wiping his forehead and helping him put on a pair of shoes.

Zuckerberg also reassured his supporters, stating that he still looks forward to pursuing his MMA goals once he has fully recovered and expressed his gratitude for the love and support he has received.

This incident is just one chapter in Mark Zuckerberg's journey into competitive sports. He had previously ventured into the world of sports, competing in a jiu-jitsu tournament and securing medals for the Guerrilla Jiu-Jitsu team, as he proudly shared on Instagram. His enthusiasm for competitive sports had also caught the attention of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, leading to a lighthearted online rivalry.

Musk playfully challenged Zuckerberg to a "cage match" following some banter about their competing apps on social media. This exchange generated buzz as the two tech billionaires engaged in a back-and-forth exchange. In response to a user warning Musk about Zuckerberg's jiu-jitsu skills, Musk expressed his willingness to partake in a cage match with Zuckerberg. Zuckerberg, in turn, eagerly accepted the challenge, posting a screenshot of the exchange on his Instagram Story with the words "Send me location" in large letters.

The public was left wondering whether this challenge was indeed serious. A spokesperson for Meta, Zuckerberg's company, offered little clarity, stating, "The story speaks for itself." UFC President Dana White later addressed the situation, confirming that both Zuckerberg and Musk were genuinely committed to the idea of a cage match during an interview on June 22.
