KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: Former Al-Qadsia Club and Kuwait national team player Amer Matouq will bid farewell to soccer next Sunday, marking the end of a distinguished two-decade career. His retirement festival will be held under the patronage of businessman Ahmed Abdullah Al-Radaan. The event will take place alongside the highly anticipated summit match between Al-Qadsia and Al-Arabi at Mohammed Al-Hamad Stadium, part of the 12th round of the Zain Premier League.
Born on April 21, 1988, Matouq began his professional journey with Al-Qadsia's first football team during the 2006/2007 season. His outstanding performances and consistent contributions quickly made him a key figure for both Al-Qadsia and the national team. Over his illustrious career, Matouq helped his club secure 30 championships, including one AFC Cup, six Premier League titles, five Amir Cups, four Crown Prince Cups, six Super Cups, five Federation Cups, two Reserve League titles, and one Al-Jazeera Friendly Tournament.
In addition to his success at the club level, Matouq also made significant contributions to the Kuwaiti national team from 2009 to 2019, securing three major titles: the 2010 West Asia Tournament, the 2010 Gulf Cup, and the 2011 Fox Friendly Tournament. He also represented Al-Fahaheel and Al-Tadamon clubs on loan during his career.
