Meghan Markle

NEW YORK, July 7: Meghan Markle is reportedly grappling with feelings of being "under siege" amidst lukewarm public reception to her recent ventures, which are also impacting her relationship with Prince Harry.

According to royal author Tom Quinn, there is a growing strain between the couple due to Meghan's growing unease about the direction of her post-royal life. "She loves media attention but hates that surveys suggest she and Harry are no longer of significant interest to the American public," Quinn explained to The Mirror.

Since stepping back as a senior member of the British royal family four years ago, Meghan has ventured into various projects with mixed success. Her Spotify podcast, "Archetypes," launched under a reported $20 million deal, did not secure a second season after receiving mixed reviews. Criticism escalated when Spotify’s head of global sports strategy criticized Meghan and Harry, labeling them as "grifters."

Undeterred, Meghan has signed with Lemonada, a media company, to produce a new podcast, although its release has been postponed until 2025. Meanwhile, she and Harry are navigating their five-year Netflix deal, set to expire in 2025, and Meghan recently concluded filming for an upcoming cooking show.

In addition to her media ventures, Meghan is preparing to launch her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard, focusing on products like jams and dog biscuits. Despite her efforts, these initiatives have not garnered the same public attention as her earlier post-royal activities.

"With speculation about the future of their Netflix deal and the backlash against her brand's launch, Meghan feels increasingly besieged," Quinn remarked. "She believes that whatever she does now will face unfair criticism," he added, echoing sentiments shared with The Mirror.

As Meghan navigates these challenges, she and Harry continue to face public scrutiny and are reportedly struggling with perceptions of their work.
