KUWAIT CITY, Sept 10:  Dr. Mohammed Al-Ghanem, Head of the Urology Unit at Jaber Armed Forces Hospital, has emphasized the dangers of postponing treatment for health issues affecting men. He highlighted that delaying treatment can lead to more severe problems in the future. According to Dr. Al-Ghanem, early intervention is crucial for diseases such as prostate conditions, diabetes, and heart diseases, as it significantly improves the chances of recovery and maintains quality of life.

In a recent press statement, Dr. Al-Ghanem stressed the importance of addressing these diseases promptly due to their impact on daily living. He recommended that men begin regular checkups at age fifty and adopt a balanced lifestyle to prevent such health issues. Early detection of conditions like prostate disorders, diabetes, and heart disease is vital to avoid serious complications and undesirable outcomes.

Dr. Al-Ghanem also discussed the common issue of prostate enlargement, noting that its complications can include urinary symptoms, inflammation, and pain during urination. Symptoms such as weak urine flow, interrupted urination, frequent urination, and possible urinary retention can arise from this condition. He warned that weak bladder muscles could lead to permanent retention and bladder stone formation.

Treatment options for prostate issues vary and can be conservative, medicinal, or surgical, depending on the severity of the condition and the physician's assessment. Dr. Al-Ghanem outlined the typical diagnostic process, which includes an ultrasound of the urinary bladder and prostate to determine size, followed by kidney and urine function tests to rule out infections.

To mitigate health risks, Dr. Al-Ghanem advised men to schedule regular medical checkups, adhere to a balanced diet, engage in regular exercise, quit smoking, and maintain a healthy weight.
