Meteorologist warns of continued rainfall in Kuwait; caution urged
Kuwait experiencing cloudy weather.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 8: Since yesterday, the country has experienced varying levels of rainfall, with intensity differing across different regions. Meteorologist Abdul Aziz Al-Qarawi explained that the rainfall, which began yesterday, is expected to continue until the early evening hours. He attributed the weather conditions to the seasonal Sudanese depression, which is bringing a relatively warm and humid air mass, leading to the formation of rain clouds.

Al-Qarawi noted that rainfall amounts today ranged from 2 mm to 7 mm across various parts of the country. He emphasized that weather conditions will continue to be closely monitored, with updates provided as necessary. Al-Qarawi also urged citizens and residents to follow the instructions from the relevant authorities and exercise caution during this period.

Meanwhile, sources from the General Authority for Roads and Transportation confirmed that no significant water accumulation was observed on the country's expressways. The rain that fell was light, and the existing rainwater drainage network was sufficient to handle it. They also noted that there is continuous coordination between the Authority and the Meteorology Department to monitor the weather conditions.

Additionally, the Ministry of Public Works has installed water pumps in several internal areas of the governorates ahead of the rainy season and has developed a plan to manage areas where water accumulation is more likely during heavy rainfall.
