LOS ANGELES, Oct 14, (Agencies): Five-time Oscar nominee Michelle Williams has been chosen to narrate the audio version of Britney Spears' memoir, "The Woman in Me," as announced by Simon & Schuster Audio. The surprising revelation in the announcement was that Britney Spears herself, the 41-year-old pop icon, would read an introduction to the audiobook. Scheduled to grace bookstores on Tuesday, "The Woman in Me" is published by Gallery Books.
In a statement, Spears expressed her feelings about the book, describing it as a labor of love filled with a range of emotions. She explained that revisiting her life experiences was both exciting and heart-wrenching, and for these reasons, she would personally narrate only a small portion of the audiobook. Spears went on to express her gratitude towards Michelle Williams for taking on the rest of the narration.
Michelle Williams, in the same press release, voiced her support for Spears, underscoring her solidarity with the pop star. This project marks Williams' debut as an audiobook narrator.
"The Woman in Me" is characterized as a courageous and deeply moving tale about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope. It offers an unprecedented glimpse into Britney's incredible journey and the inner strength that has made her one of the greatest performers in the history of pop music. Written with remarkable honesty and humor, Spears' groundbreaking book highlights the enduring power of music, love, and the importance of a woman sharing her own story on her own terms.
Prior to the announcement of Williams narrating Spears' memoir, Britney's estranged husband, Sam Asghari, revealed his lack of apprehension about the book's content. He shared that he had already read it and expressed immense pride in Britney's hard work. Asghari conveyed his excitement and unwavering support, emphasizing the book's difficulty and his eagerness to be the first in line to purchase it.
