KUWAIT CITY, April 23: The first round of placement matches in the General Basketball League—determining positions from fifth to ninth—gets underway today at the Kuwait Basketball Association Hall in the Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Sports Complex.

Al-Nasr will clash with Yarmouk at 5:00 pm, followed by Al-Arabi taking on Al-Tadamon at 7:30 pm.

Clubs finishing between fifth and ninth—Sulaibikhat, Al-Nasr, Al-Arabi, Yarmouk, and Al-Tadamon—will compete in a single-round league to finalize their rankings. Meanwhile, the top four teams—Kuwait Club, Kazma, Qadsia, and Al-Qurain—have booked their places in the semifinals to battle for the championship title.

In today’s matchups, Al-Nasr and Al-Arabi enter as favorites, thanks to their superior form and performances in the first and second divisions of the league. Yarmouk and Al-Tadamon, who ended the regular season in eighth and ninth places respectively, face an uphill task after a series of underwhelming results.
