KUWAIT CITY, Aug 1: Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, conducted an inspection of the Shuwaikh Beach Development and Beautification Project on Wednesday. The project, set to be completed by May, is supported by a generous donation from the National Bank of Kuwait (NBK).

In a press statement, Al-Mashaan highlighted that the initiative aligns with the municipality's strategy to collaborate with all development stakeholders in support of the "New Kuwait 2035" vision. She praised NBK's contribution to this key project, which aims to enhance the country's seafronts for the benefit of residents, citizens, and international visitors.

Issam Al-Saqr, Vice Chairman and CEO of NBK Group, echoed these sentiments, noting that the visit was part of the bank's commitment to monitoring the project's progress. Al-Saqr emphasized that NBK's donation underscores its dedication to sustainable economic development and aligns with Kuwait's climate action goals, including the pledge to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.

The Shuwaikh Beach Development and Beautification Project encompasses four main areas, each designed to cater to different needs while minimizing environmental impact and reducing carbon emissions. The project features sports fields, recreational areas, extensive green spaces, and improvements to existing facilities, including a mosque, restrooms, and commercial kiosks.

The first area will offer sports fields and outdoor activity spaces, with provisions for future kiosks and ATMs. The second area will include a sandy beach with wooden benches, while the third will feature a closed garden with green spaces and relaxation zones. The fourth area will serve as the project's starting point, featuring an interactive checkers game and expansive green areas for various activities.

The project reflects a strong commitment to environmental sustainability and community well-being, showcasing the successful partnership between the public and private sectors in Kuwait.
