Minister forms panel to audit 66,732 disability certificates

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 11: At the behest of the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, a specialized committee composed of representatives of several government agencies has begun auditing the files of disabled individuals.

This is in confirmation of the article published by a daily on September 2 regarding 66,732 disability certificates under the microscope. In this regard, informed sources explained that Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah instructed the committee to thoroughly audit all files without exception.

Anyone found to have committed violations will be referred to the concerned authorities, and any improperly received financial allocations or other benefits will be reclaimed. There will be accountability for any employee or official involved in tampering with the files of the Public Authority for Disability Affairs (PADA).

Meanwhile, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah visited the Public Authority for Disability Affairs to review the automated systems linked to the authority’s mechanization system. During her visit, she inspected the Information Systems Center alongside the Director of Administration. Dr. Al-Huwailah confirmed that the work was progressing and meeting the needs of the visitors. She directed the authority’s leaders to address and correct a system malfunction with the utmost urgency and effort
