In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Minister Al-Wasmi emphasized that every effort was made to avoid mistakes and that any obstacles hindering the registration process would be addressed. He assured that all measures are being taken to provide comprehensive services, allowing pilgrims to select from available campaigns.
Al-Wasmi noted that a total of 37,700 individuals registered for Hajj, with 8,000 being selected for the pilgrimage. He expressed hope that cooperation with Saudi authorities would lead to an increase in the number of participants. The Minister also highlighted that the necessary laws and standards have been established to ensure the high efficiency of the Hajj campaigns, adding that the quality of Kuwaiti campaigns is well recognized both domestically and internationally.
In a similar statement, Sattam Al-Muzain, Director of the Hajj and Umrah Department, explained that the sorting process was conducted according to the categories defined by the Supreme Committee for Hajj and Umrah Affairs. He confirmed that the registration portal has now closed, leaving 7,700 remaining pilgrims.
Al-Muzain also shared that the sorting process was carried out with full transparency, in the presence of representatives from Hajj campaigns to ensure fairness. Each category was assigned a specific percentage, and the oldest applicants, along with their companions, were selected for inclusion.
He added that text messages would be sent to the accepted pilgrims, and notifications would also be made via the (Sahel) application. Those who did not register within the stipulated five-day period will be excluded from the selection, and new applicants will be considered for the Hajj pilgrimage. (KUNA)
