Minister of Education takes action, refers 9 new corruption cases to public prosecution
Kuwait's Ministry of Education

KUWAIT CITY, April 21: Minister of Education, Sayed Jalal Al-Tabtabaei, announced on Monday that nine new corruption cases have been referred to the Public Prosecution as part of ongoing efforts to combat administrative violations and ensure accountability within the Ministry of Education.

In a press statement issued by the Ministry, Al-Tabtabaei emphasized the importance of integrity and transparency in the educational sector, stating that purging the administrative environment is a key foundation for any educational reform.

The violations in question involve the abuse of authority for personal gain, facilitating the illegal seizure of public funds, and misuse of administrative powers, in addition to the presentation of false information that raises suspicions of serious corruption. Al-Tabtabaei highlighted that these cases require immediate legal accountability.

The Minister confirmed that all relevant documents and evidence have been submitted to the judicial authorities for investigation and strict legal action. He also pointed to the activation of the ministry's Inspection and Auditing Office, which has strengthened internal controls and helped uncover significant financial and administrative violations in recent times.

Al-Tabtabaei reiterated the ministry's commitment to thoroughly reviewing its control systems, introducing corrective measures to prevent future violations, and ensuring strict adherence to laws and regulations within the Ministry of Education. He stressed the intensification of oversight and the verification of administrative and financial procedures to safeguard public funds and the state's rights.

The Minister made it clear that there would be no leniency in addressing violations, and accountability measures would be applied to all individuals found responsible, without exception or discrimination.
