KUWAIT CITY, Aug 8: Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, and Minister of State for Youth Affairs, visited the Union of Cooperative Societies on Wednesday morning. She was accompanied by Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Cooperative Sector Ahmed Al-Enezi and received by members of the Union of Consumer Cooperative Societies, headed by Musab Ahmed Al-Mulla.

During her visit, Al-Huwailah reviewed the Union’s preparations to ensure the strategic stock's availability in cooperative societies. She was briefed on the progress within the Union’s departments and the essential role the Union plays in serving the community and achieving sustainable development.

In a statement following the visit, Al-Huwailah emphasized that the visit aligns with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Abdullah, in supporting and developing civil society institutions to ensure the well-being of citizens.

Al-Huwailah reassured the public that there is no cause for concern regarding the strategic stock, stating, "The stock is good and available in all cooperative societies, and coordination is ongoing with all relevant authorities to ensure its availability in sufficient quantities. All parties are sufficiently responsible to prioritize the interests of the nation and citizens."

She highlighted the importance of innovation in community services, noting that the Cooperative Societies Union is a key partner in improving the quality of life and developing residential neighborhoods. "Positive competition between societies in providing integrated services at reasonable prices contributes to achieving the comprehensive vision of citizen welfare," Al-Huwailah added.

Al-Huwailah stressed that "the interests of the nation and its citizens are the basis of everything we do, and preserving public funds is a national duty that cannot be compromised. We strongly support initiatives that enhance the role of cooperative societies at the social level and seek to support the development and beautification of our regions through community initiatives led by cooperative societies, reflecting our future aspirations and ambitions."

She concluded her statement by asserting, "Achieving citizens’ aspirations requires all of us to work as one team and be creative in providing solutions and services. We believe that the future is built today by combining efforts and dedication to work."
