KUWAIT CITY, Nov 23: The Ministry of Social Affairs has announced its readiness to launch a central aid platform designed to unify the efforts of charitable societies and organizations. The initiative aims to enhance the efficiency of charitable work and ensure fairness in the distribution of aid to citizens and residents in need.
In a statement to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the ministry explained that this project aligns with directives from the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood Affairs, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah. The platform seeks to streamline charitable activities across the country, maximizing their societal impact by coordinating efforts among charitable associations.
The ministry highlighted that the platform will integrate with the "My Identity" (Hawiyati) program to ensure transparency and effective organization of aid distribution. Through the platform, charitable societies will have access to preliminary beneficiary data, such as the type of assistance needed, family size, and the applicant's nationality. Personal details will remain confidential until the request is accepted by a specific charity, at which point full information will be disclosed to the handling organization.
The ministry emphasized that the system will include a notification mechanism to address unfulfilled requests. If a request remains pending for more than two weeks, the ministry will redirect it to another charity while notifying the original organization. This process aims to ensure timely assistance, quicker response to beneficiaries’ needs, and the prevention of duplicate aid provision.
Additionally, the platform will generate regular reports—daily, weekly, or monthly—detailing the types of aid provided, their monetary value, and the number of beneficiaries. These reports will enhance oversight and analysis, ensuring the maximum societal benefit from charitable activities.
The platform will also simplify the application process. Beneficiaries can submit requests electronically through the platform using the "My Identity" system, specifying the type of assistance required. Charitable societies can then review and select requests to address.
The ministry described this initiative as a significant step forward in organizing charitable work in Kuwait. It reaffirmed its commitment to continually developing tools and strategies to create a unified vision for charitable societies, enhancing their role in serving the community.
