MEW urges energy rationing from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

Power outages in Rawdatayn, Abdali, and Wafra to stabilize Kuwait's electrical system.

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 18: The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy has announced power outages in parts of the agricultural areas of Rawdatayn, Abdali, and Wafra to maintain the stability of the electrical system across the country.

In a press statement, the ministry stated that it may be forced to "regretfully" cut off electricity to parts of some areas with high energy consumption to ensure the continued stability of the nation's electricity system. The ministry attributed this decision to a disruption in fuel (gas) supplies that occurred yesterday, which led to the failure of several electricity generation units at the Al-Subiya and Doha West power and water distillation stations.

The Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy assured the public that any new updates regarding the status of the electricity network will be communicated through its official social media accounts.

The ministry also urged the public to conserve electricity during the upcoming peak hours, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, by following the ministry's guidelines on energy consumption.
