KUWAIT CITY, Nov 25: The Kuwaiti Ministry of Communications has successfully collected approximately 35 million Kuwaiti dinars (about 106 million US dollars) in accumulated financial dues from subscribers following a three-month campaign. This marks a significant increase in collections compared to the same period last year, nearly doubling the amount collected during the previous fiscal year.
In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry emphasized that the collection initiative was aligned with directives from the Council of Ministers and instructions from Minister of State for Communications Affairs, Omar Al-Omar. The goal was to develop a clear and straightforward plan to help customers track their dues and easily make payments without additional procedures.
The ministry's debt collection strategy focused on safeguarding public funds by ensuring customers were regularly notified of their outstanding balances. These notifications were sent through various channels, in cooperation with other government agencies, to encourage timely payments for the benefit of both citizens and residents.
The Ministry of Communications commended the prompt response from many customers who acted quickly to settle their dues upon receiving notifications. The ministry urged subscribers who have not yet paid to follow the instructions sent through the "Sahel" application and settle their outstanding balances promptly. Failure to do so may result in automatic disconnection of services and restrictions on other government transactions.
Customers can pay their dues through the ministry's website, the "Sahel" government app, or by visiting local area switchboards and using the "K.Net" payment service.
