KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: In line with the replacement and Kuwaitization policies, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) has officially requested the Ministry of Education to terminate the services of 1,186 expatriate staff in academic and executive positions by the end of the current school year, reports Al-Qabas daily.The decision covers 312 teachers, 223 social and psychological researchers, and 604 support staff. Speaking to the daily, sources disclosed the CSC has forwarded a letter to the ministry regarding the termination of expatriate employees and cancellation of contracts.The CSC pointed out that if there is no comment from the ministry regarding the number or percentage of those covered by the replacement policy within two weeks maximum, it will ask the Ministry of Finance to take the necessary action to cancel the contracts of non-Kuwaiti staff in the ministry’s budget for fiscal 2019/2020.
