Ministry of Health provides update on new infectious diseases hospital construction.

KUWAIT CITY, July 4: The Ministry of Health provided an update today regarding the ongoing construction of the new Infectious Diseases Hospital, refuting recent claims and addressing concerns surrounding the project.

In a statement issued today, the Ministry confirmed that construction work on the new hospital building is progressing as planned. However, it clarified that the hospital has not yet been received from the main contractor and remains non-operational at this time.

Addressing concerns about the safety and status of the building, the Ministry assured the public that the structure is secure and stable, emphasizing that it is not at risk of collapse nor has it been abandoned. Additionally, the Ministry clarified that the building does not serve as a residence for workers, contrary to rumors.

According to the statement, workers currently on site are actively engaged in installing, operating, and inspecting medical systems and equipment within the hospital premises. These efforts are part of the final preparations required before the project can be officially handed over to the Ministry of Health as scheduled by the contractor.

The Ministry also clarified that adjacent temporary buildings, licensed by relevant authorities, serve as temporary offices for Ministry engineers and contractor representatives. These structures are standard practice and will be removed upon completion and handover of the project.

Expressing appreciation for public interest in the project, the Ministry urged individuals and media outlets to verify information before spreading potentially false claims. It underscored the importance of accurate reporting to support the continuous development of healthcare infrastructure in the country.

The Ministry concluded by reserving its legal rights regarding any misinformation or inaccurate reports that could undermine the efforts of national healthcare personnel dedicated to enhancing healthcare services.
