KUWAIT CITY, Jul 8 The Ministry of Health reaffirmed its commitment to upholding national laws and ethical standards in medical practice. In a recent statement, the Ministry emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations governing health institutions and their operations. This includes strict adherence to patient confidentiality and data privacy, as well as adherence to legislated guidelines regarding photography within health facilities.

Highlighting the priority placed on safeguarding patient privacy and medical data, the Ministry referenced Article 21 of Law 70 of 2020. It clarified that photographing patients or healthcare professionals inside health facilities without prior written consent from both parties and facility management is strictly prohibited. Exceptions are made for educational, documentation, research, scientific publication, expertise exchange, or health awareness purposes, provided explicit consent is obtained, and measures are taken to protect patient identity.

The Ministry cautioned against unauthorized photography, stressing that such actions could compromise patient privacy and dignity. Upholding these standards is seen as crucial to professional ethics and societal responsibilities. The Ministry urged cooperation from citizens, residents, and media to comply with these laws, underscoring its ongoing commitment to providing high-quality healthcare services while maintaining patient trust and rights.
