KUWAIT CITY, Jul 19: Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Press, Publishing, and Publications Sector at the Ministry of Information, Lafi Al-Subaie, urged all media outlets, to uphold credibility and adhere to publishing standards when reporting on any malfunctions in electronic operating systems worldwide, whether on their websites or social media platforms, in written, audio, or visual formats.

In a press statement, Al-Subaie noted that some news websites have been spreading false information from internal and external sources regarding failures in the operating systems of global institutions and companies. He emphasized that these actions hold the violators accountable for any consequences and mentioned that measures have already been taken against such offenders, with future violations also subject to action.

Al-Subaie underscored that the Ministry of Information is closely monitoring all media coverage of the incident and its impact on the country’s economy, security, and stability through its agencies.

He stressed that the ministry will take necessary measures to address the issue, highlighting the importance of news websites and platforms following information issued by relevant official authorities to ensure the integrity of their procedures and avoid interference in their work.

Al-Subaie commended media outlets that remain committed to professionalism and high objectivity, following the law, regulations, and bylaws in force, and prioritizing the interests of the nation, citizens, and societal stability above all considerations.
