Ministry of Interior: Biometric fingerprints play a key role in security system

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 19: The Saad Al-Abdullah Academy for Security Sciences, in collaboration with the Research Sector at Kuwait University, organized a symposium today titled "Legal Dimensions of Biometric Fingerprints" in the context of international human rights agreements and local legislation. The event was held under the patronage of Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Minister of  Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef.

Brigadier Ali Al-Wahib, Director General of the Academy, highlighted the significance of the event, noting that it simplified the discussion of biometric fingerprints, covering its legal, technical, and other aspects. The symposium featured the participation of numerous experts in the field.

Brigadier Al-Wahib emphasized the critical role of fingerprinting in the overall security system, aligning it with both local laws and international human rights agreements. He also mentioned that the symposium would include various workshops and lectures, as well as practical demonstrations of biometric fingerprint procedures for the attendees.

In his speech, Acting Director of Kuwait University, Dr. Osama Al-Saeed, affirmed that the symposium aimed to examine the legal aspects of biometric fingerprints in the context of international human rights frameworks and local legislation.
