KUWAIT CITY, Jan 20: The Ministry of Oil announced that it will host the closing ceremony for the "Oil Innovates 3" award early next February at the Oil Complex Theater in Shuwaikh. This event is part of the ministry’s ongoing efforts to encourage innovation and excellence among Kuwaiti youth.
In a statement to KUNA, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Oil, emphasized the ministry’s commitment to fostering creativity and preparing for the future. She stated that the award aims to inspire young talents and enhance their skills to develop innovative solutions that meet the challenges of the oil sector’s future.
The closing ceremony will be attended by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nemer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, along with Assistant Undersecretaries, the Director General of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity, Nada Al-Daihani, and a group of students participating in the award.
Sheikha Tamader explained that the "Oil Innovates" award, in its third edition, is designed to provide an encouraging environment for innovators both inside and outside the ministry. The focus is on fostering scientific research, skill development, and supporting youth competencies. She highlighted that the award aims to anticipate future challenges by adopting innovative ideas that improve operational efficiency and promote sustainability in the oil industry.
This edition of the award saw a strong response from youth, with 23 teams participating—10 teams of young men and 13 teams of young women, each comprising three students. This high level of participation demonstrates the enthusiasm of the younger generation to contribute to the development of the oil sector through their creative projects.
During the closing ceremony, the winning projects, selected by the jury based on innovation, quality, and applicability, will be showcased. The top three winners will be honored with certificates of appreciation for their outstanding ideas and contributions.
Additionally, the ceremony will feature an exhibition for sponsors who supported the award, offering them an opportunity to display their products and services while highlighting their role in promoting innovation and social responsibility.
Sheikha Tamader expressed her gratitude to the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity for its fruitful cooperation with the ministry, noting that their partnership has had a positive impact on the innovative projects presented.
She emphasized that the "Oil Innovates 3" award reflects the ministry’s dedication to supporting innovation and empowering youth to play an active role in the development of the oil sector. This aligns with Kuwait’s vision for sustainable development and the enhancement of the competitiveness of the oil sector both locally and globally. Creative ideas are key to improving operational processes, reducing costs, increasing productivity, and ensuring sustainability in the industry.
