Permanent monitoring of rainwater drainage pumps' performance

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 21, (Agencies): The Ministry of Public Works has confirmed the continuous deployment of its emergency teams across various locations susceptible to rainwater accumulation. The ministry commended the effective coordination among different state agencies and their constructive collaboration in promptly addressing instances of rainwater buildup. In an official statement, the ministry expressed its dedication to overseeing rainwater drainage pumps situated along highways, particularly in tunnels, to guarantee uninterrupted traffic flow throughout the country. It emphasized ongoing coordination with the Meteorological Department to swiftly address rainfall in diverse areas.

In a related development, Eid Al-Rashidi, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Works, and Khaled Al-Osaimi, the Director of the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport, conducted an inspection yesterday evening. They assessed various streets, main roads, and tunnels to evaluate the preparedness of rainwater drainage pumping stations along highways and within tunnels. The inspection aimed to ensure the presence of emergency teams and supervisory agencies affiliated with the Ministry and the General Authority for Roads. Their focus was on maintaining smooth road conditions and efficient pump operations throughout the recent rainy period. Fortunately, the rain drainage network effectively managed the rainfall without causing disruptions on highways or in the surrounding areas.
