Ministry of Social Affairs tracks Ramadan donations across Kuwait

KUWAI CITY, March 3: Field inspection teams have commenced monitoring the donation collection project in all governorates at the start of Ramadan, according to informed sources.

The Ministry of Social Affairs, through its Charitable Societies Department, is closely tracking the project’s progress using an electronic link designed for charitable activities. In addition to this, field inspection teams are conducting daily and periodic visits to the headquarters of charitable societies and donation collection points. They are also overseeing advertisements on social media to ensure compliance with ministry regulations. These checks include verifying that the necessary publication licenses have been obtained and that approved bank account numbers are being used for collecting donations.

The sources emphasized the need to comply with the regulations governing charitable work in order to avoid legal repercussions. They highlighted that donations should only be collected through approved electronic platforms and bank deductions. Furthermore, all personnel involved in the donation collection project must be registered with the charitable societies, and their residency status must meet compliance requirements. For collections at mosques, the schedule set by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs must be strictly adhered to.

Regarding the campaign for collecting debts this year, the sources revealed that the decision on its launch date is in the hands of the Minister, who will coordinate with the relevant authorities to determine when the campaign will begin.
