KUWAIT CITY, Aug 22: The Ministry of Health denied claims made by a doctor on the X platform that the need for using the fingerprint system during working hours had disrupted a surgical operation. In a press statement, the ministry asserted that such comments are “a disgrace to the health sector” and warned of taking legal action against anyone spreading false information that could incite panic among patients, their families, and the general public. It added that such misinformation could damage the reputation of the national health institution and its dedicated professionals.

The ministry clarified that, after investigating the incident, it was determined that the details in the post were false and lacked accuracy in both description and reporting. Throughout the operation, the entire surgical team, including the anesthesiologist and nursing staff, was present to monitor the patient’s condition.

Contrary to the implication, the surgeon was not alone with the patient during the procedure. Also, the radiology technician left the operating room only after completing their role and taking the necessary X-rays, which is standard practice in all cases. The ministry stated that there is an approved mechanism for verifying attendance or departure in exceptional cases when the employees are unable to use the fingerprint system. For those working in operating rooms, a pre-prepared form needs to be filled in with the reason for the inability to use the fingerprint system to prove presence during working hours
