KUWAIT CITY, Jan 15: The mixed doubles "trap" competition is set to take place today as a highlight of the Kuwait Asian Shooting Championship at the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah "Olympic" ranges complex. The championship, featuring participants from 26 countries, will culminate on the 22nd of this month. Concurrently, "skeet" shooting training is scheduled at the same complex.

Hussein Pasha Al-Majali, President of the Jordanian Shooting Federation, lauded the Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Ranges Complex as the best on the Asian continent. He emphasized that Kuwaiti shooting has evolved into a source of pride for the entire Arab region. Al-Majali commended the hosting of the Kuwait Asian Championship, praising the Supreme Organizing Committee for providing all necessary resources and expressing his pride in the capabilities demonstrated.

During an inspection tour on Monday, Al-Majali, along with dignitaries such as Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah, President of the Asian Shooting Federation, Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee, and other key figures, witnessed the excellent facilities at the Al-Mayadeen Complex.

Al-Majali acknowledged the significance of Kuwait's human resources in organizing successful shooting tournaments and anticipated continued success in the future. He highlighted the commitment to nurturing young talents, ensuring a robust future for the sport.

President of the Syrian Shooting Federation, Ali Al-Salem, expressed happiness in participating in the Kuwait Asian Shooting Championship. He emphasized the tournament's importance in qualifying eight male and female shooters for the 2024 Paris Olympics. Al-Salem pledged intense competition with the aim of securing colored medals and Olympic qualifications. He extended appreciation for the Kuwait Shooting Federation's efforts, led by Engineer Duaij Al-Otaibi, in organizing outstanding tournaments.

Head of the Iraqi Shooting Federation, Sabih Murad, commended the Kuwait Asian Shooting Championship, noting the excellent organizational aspects that characterize Kuwaiti shooting. Murad praised the Supreme Organizing Committee for its efforts in overcoming obstacles, fostering an environment where participants can give their best. He wished success to all male and female shooters, hoping they achieve the desired results for podium climbs.
