KUWAIT CITY Aug 1: Faisal Al Ansari, Director of the Commercial Control Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, said the department has issued 577 violations over the past seven months. This was achieved during 1,840 inspection tours, including 380 conducted in July alone. In July, the inspection teams issued 130 citations, accounting for 22.5% of the total violations reported during the period.

According to Al Ansari, the violation statistics for July highlighted a significant shift in the infractions. The most common violation was related to advertisements with false specifications, data, or prices, which comprised 27.7% of the total violations with 36 cases. This was followed by violations involving the agent’s failure to honor the quality guarantee of products during the warranty period (15 violations), and restaurant delivery price issues (14 violations). Other violations included extra fees on the value of commodities or services (9 violations) and charging prices higher than the announced amount (7 violations).
