KUWAIT CITY, Nov 28: An unidentified senior officer in the Ministry of Education took his case directly to the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr Saud Al-Harbi when an unidentified employee in his sector accused the officer of harassing her.
The officer did not wait for the investigation to end in a complaint filed by an employee and told the minister the charge has been slapped against him because he used his position to transfer the employee to another department.
Informed educational sources told the Al-Seyassah daily the Minister Al-Harbi has referred the senior officer to the Civil Service Commission for investigation.
The sources stated the minister has initiated a request for statements and fact-finding from the various parties concerning the complaint, indicating the officer has accepted the decision on the issue and cleared his name from the employee’s complaint until everything becomes crystal clear.
Meanwhile, the female employee is said to have disclosed everything in front of some officials in the minister’s office and revealed all the harassment she was subjected to.
The sources indicated some officials asked the employee to remain calm and not to provide any information about the harassment she was exposed to publicly, especially since there is an investigation going on into the incident or go to the ‘police station’ which was another option in front of the complainant
