PAM looks into violations committed by schools, offers solutions

KUWAIT CITY, July 26: The Ministry of Education has taken action against six private schools – with different systems – for refusing to pay the salaries of its teachers, reports Al- Seyassah daily.

The educational sources told the daily five of the six schools have adjusted their conditions, while the ministry has begun withdrawing the license of the sixth, stating that the value of one of these guarantees is 200 thousand dinars.

The sources added, the owners of the five private schools retreated on their decision and rushed to pay the salaries of teachers and pledged not to repeat the offense again, explaining that this came after the Public Authority for Manpower looked into the violations committed by these schools and not paying the salaries of teachers and took action to close the files of these schools until the salaries were paid.

The sources affirmed the ministry is looking into the problems facing the employees of the private schools and offers solutions before taking any action but at the same time stressed those who do not comply with the laws in force will face penalties.

The sources stated, “There are criteria to verify complaints of workers in private schools which include copy of the contract and a document proving previous salaries have been deposited into their bank accounts
