KUWAIT CITY, Feb 1: The Court of Appeals overturned the verdict issued by a lower court which sentenced a Ministry of Health’s employee to five-year imprisonment, and instead refrained from punishing him, reports Al-Seyassah daily. During the court session, lawyer Zaid Al-Khabbaz representing the defendant stressed that the documents were devoid of any evidence to prove that his client had forged permits for overseas treatment and counterfeited the doctor’s seal.

Also, the forensic evidence report proved that his client’s handwriting did not match the handwriting on the transactions. There is also no proof that his client obtained any interest or benefit from the forged documents. He insisted that there was no interest or benefit, which indicates that his client committed the crime of forgery leveled against him. Al-Khabbaz requested the court to cancel his client’s imprisonment sentence.
