Ministry implements direct link with overseas medical centers

Dr. Munther Al-Hasawi

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 10: The Ministry of Health has launched a direct electronic link with the "Wafed" program system, connecting accredited medical centers outside Kuwait, as announced by Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Affairs, Dr. Munther Al-Hasawi. This initiative, affiliated with the Health Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council, aims to streamline the verification process for medical reports issued by these centers. Through this system, health certificates and reports will be sent directly to Kuwait upon issuance, enhancing the efficiency and accuracy of medical documentation.

The electronic link is also expected to improve the monitoring of expatriate workers' health before their arrival in Kuwait, particularly in screening for chronic and infectious diseases such as hepatitis and AIDS. This measure is seen as a critical step in safeguarding the country's health security.

Dr. Al-Hasawi highlighted that 574 centers across 29 countries have been approved for worker examinations, reinforcing confidence in Kuwait's health procedures and ensuring that incoming workers meet the nation's health standards.
