KUWAIT CITY, Nov 24: The Ministry of Interior has issued a set of instructions to prevent the theft of assets of citizens and residents and protect them from ‘crooks’ who use various means to rob others and stressed on the need not to open suspicious text messages on WhatsApp or other applications, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily said, the ministry instructions warn people not to use Public Wi-Fi. They must also shop through official and well-known websites only, making sure that the site uses the secure (https) protocol.

The instructions added, ‘Do not open anonymous messages (e-mail, social media applications, or text messages), click on the links attached to them, or open the attachments;

Not to share or disclose any bank or personal information over the phone or the Internet;

Use strong and complex passwords that contain letters, symbols, and numbers with a length of no less than 14 characters for all electronic and bank accounts;

Maintaining the confidentiality of passwords and not sharing them with anyone;

Activate the multiple verification feature (2FA) for all electronic and bank accounts; Update the devices and applications used to the latest version;

Download and install reliable anti-malware programs and keep them updated.
