KUWAIT CITY, May 14: The Ministry of Interior has requested Kuwait Municipality not to allow and approve the granting of any licenses to hold temporary trade fairs in parks located within residential areas, reports Al-Qabas daily.

In a letter sent recently to the municipality and was circulated to the hygiene departments in the municipality branches in all governorates to execute its security mandate in all parts of the country in order to achieve the public interest, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior Lieutenant-General Anwar Al-Barjas explained that it was noticed that some concerned authorities in the state granted licenses to set up “temporary trade fairs” in parks located within the areas of private and model housing. This led to the occurrence of many complaints and problems, and grumbling among the residents of the areas.

These problems include severe traffic congestion, disruption of traffic, disturbing the comfort of others, blocking others, quarrels and confrontations that occur on the site, causing problems for the houses near the site, damage to gardens such as destroying trees and plants, dumping waste and leaving the exhibition unclean.

Lieutenant-General Al-Barjas said, "In the interest of the Ministry of Interior represented by the Public Security Affairs Sector, for the proper and orderly conduct of work, to carry out the tasks entrusted to it to the fullest extent, and to preserve public and private properties, we call upon the concerned authority not to allow and approve the granting of any licenses to hold temporary trade fairs in gardens located within residential areas".
